Templar Cross: straight equilateral cross with flared ends, used by the Knights Templars. Legend: during Templar persecution, cloaks were thrown into fire to test guilt, yet the Templar cross did not burn. Matthew of Paris records varied crusader crosses by nation; it is believed only templars had the right to use this symbol.
