Munisuvrata, 20th Tirthankara, is symbolized by a tortoise. Per Jain tradition, he descended from Anata Kalpa heaven to Padmavati (King Sumitra) on Asvina Shukla 12. After 11 months of karma-destroying austerities under a Champaka tree, he gained Kevala Jnana. Yakshini: Naradatta (Svetambara) or Bahurupini (Digambara); yaksha: Varuna. Typically meditating with a tortoise emblem at his feet.
