Maya Devi (Adimata Mahamaya), worshipped by Buddhists and Hindus, is Buddha’s mother and Mahapajpati Gotami’s sister (first Buddhist nun). Per Buddhist tradition, she died 7 days post-Buddha’s birth, resurrected in Tavatimsa Heaven—a pattern for all Buddhas’ births. "Maya" means illusion/enchantment; she is also called Mahamaya.
