The bull symbolizes Rishabhanatha, 1st Tirthankara (founder of Ikshvaku dynasty). Per Jain cosmology, he was the first of 24 "ford makers" (teachings help cross samsara). Typically depicted in lotus/kayotsarga pose with long shoulder-length hair and a bull symbol. Linked to Nyagrodha tree, Gomukha (bull-faced) Yaksha, Chakreshvari Yakshi, and Bull symbol.
