The Whale geoglyph depicts a gigantic cetacean with curved back, small dorsal fin, paddle-like pectoral fins, and huge forked tail. Rarely seen alive by inland Nazca, whales’ massive size inspired beliefs in deep ocean origins and hidden knowledge, granting them mystery and divine wisdom. The Nazca may have worshiped whales through this geoglyph to channel knowledge from sea gods of creation.
